And then we have mine, the dubious smile that was quickly taken by Usayd’s camera in Computing where Mr.Timmins chants “coursework,coursework,coursework”. THE QUESTION has always been where can Muslims and non-Muslims go for social growth, and entertainment by us, for us, and about us? The answer? “Allah Made Me Funny : The Official Muslim Comedy Tour.”

 For the first time ever, the Allah Made Me Funny crew of Azhar Usman and Preacher Moss, along with upcoming British comedian Prince Abdi,  came to Manchester for an evening of comedy. With jokes ranging from Bollywood films, all the way to more serious issues such as why Muslims might hate America, there was humour for everyone.

 ”Me, I love my biryani, but sometimes I wonder whether its been prepared by some guerillas in the jungle. Im eating it and then all of a sudden I find a black cannon ball, and then a rocket, and then even a green grenade! And if Im lucky, a log and a massive leaf. I mean, what is up with that?!” Azhar Usman on Biryani

Another feature of the show was a man in the front row who was wearing all red, and I mean all red! He couldn’t have been expecting not to be made fun of! Azhar Usman made his character of “Masala Man”, with his sidekick, “Masala Ladki”.

 The trio are releasing a film this winter, and hopefully it will be as good as there evening in Manchester. Everyone should take the opportunity to go and see them, as they are the first Muslim comedians on the block, paving the way for more in the future Insha-Allah!
